Barnston Estate met with its neighbouring estates - Bolesworth, Cholmondeley and Eaton - to agree a collective Natural Capital Plan.
Renovations at Crewe Hall Farm are progressing; the demolition and re-build of the old milking parlour is now over halfway. A new roof is being constructed over the old parlour and a new concrete floor has been poured.
Simultaneously, the bricks on the exterior of the main farmhouse are being repointed with traditional lime mortar to retain the building’s original character, and the roof and slates are being entirely replaced.
The estate is taking on a land management student from Reaseheath College, who will undertake 200 hours of supervised work experience on the estate from November 2019 to July 2020.
