Shortlisted for a Wilder Cheshire Award
We are proud to have been shortlisted for a Wilder Cheshire Award.
The new Awards have been created by Cheshire Local Nature Partnership Award and are designed to celebrate the people, projects and organisations helping nature recover across Cheshire and Warrington.
They shine a spotlight on the individuals, schools, businesses, farmers, community groups and organisations making a difference – whether that’s creating habitats, protecting wildlife, improving landscapes or inspiring communities and helping more people connect with nature.
The Barnston Estate is one of three finalists in the category of Landscape Stewardship, an award that recognises farmers and land managers who are delivering wider benefits to water, climate, landscape and communities through the stewardship of land.
Landscape stewardship is important to us and nature recovery increasingly depends on joined-up action across whole landscapes. From hedgerows and wildflower margins to woodland creation and management, pond restoration, and riparian planting alongside the River Dee, we’re working hard to fulfil our long-term ambition to leave the land in a stronger condition for the next generation.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at Chester Zoo on 12th November.
