Soapbox Derby a huge hit
Thousands of people lined the streets of Farndon in Cheshire at the weekend to watch the village’s first ever Soapbox Derby.
Thirty-five hand-built customised racing karts took it in turns to speed downhill along the specially built track.
The event raised more than £25,000 for The Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
The Barnston Estate provided parking for the event and high-vis jackets for the stewards to wear.
Ed Barnston, Manager of the Barnston Estate, said: “We were delighted to support the inaugural Farndon Soapbox Derby which raised such a fantastic amount of money for such a worthwhile cause.
“The event was a great success, extremely well organised and it was brilliant to see all the creativity that had gone into the karts and the racing attire.”
