Hedge planting
It has been a busy few weeks with lots of new hedge planting around the Estate.
We have planted 730 metres of new hedges comprising hawthorn, hazel, spindle and buckthorn. That's a total of 3,500 hedging whips in total.
Huge thanks to the Sibbersfield Lane Farm team for all their hard work.
Planting new hedges is important to us and we keep a detailed record of all our natural assets whether that's hedges, ponds, trees, flood zones, soils or wildlife habitats.
We have a long-term environmental commitment and it requires careful ongoing management and annual reviews to ensure that we are on target.
As a custodian of the land we have a moral obligation to care for the earth and the waterways on the Estate, to engage in responsible farming, to nurture wildlife and to give back to Nature.
It is vital for us to establish more hedges, plant new trees and to improve water quality.
