The Sunday (between 2pm-4pm) will see the return of the highly successful Summer Social for the second year. As well as a number of stalls, there will be live music, a BBQ, pizza and beer, wine and soft drinks.

All the businesses taking part will donate 10% of what they make in sales over the weekend to Prevent Breast Cancer, the only UK charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing breast cancer for future generations.

One of the organisers is Sarah Cross, co-founder of CODE Beautiful, which has an office at Top Farm and has been supporting Prevent Breast Cancer for a number of years.

Sarah said: “We’re proud to be part of a very special collaborative charity event at Top Farm in Farndon, bringing together a collective of local businesses for a cause close to our hearts.

“This event was inspired by the reality that breast cancer touches the lives of so many of our clients, friends and families. We wanted to do something meaningful to raise awareness, support vital research, and celebrate our community.

“Top Farm businesswoman Charlene Baker is doing some amazing work with medical tattooing post-surgery and she wanted to support the charity too.

“So we decided to get all the wonderful businesses at Top Farm together for a dedicated Prevent Breast Cancer event the day before our much-loved Summer Social event, which has now turned into a full weekend of fun, amazing raffle prizes and wonderful community spirit.

“We are going to Paint Farndon Pink in May with the support of the dream team at Top Farm and the entire local community.”

Fellow organiser Charlene Baker of Permanent Make-up & Aesthetics at Top Farm, who works with a growing number of women after breast cancer surgery, said: “I’m so grateful to Sarah for introducing us to such an incredible charity.

“Being part of something that truly makes a difference to people’s lives is incredibly rewarding and there couldn’t be a better way to bring the community together to support something so important.”

Top Farm, which is part of the Barnston Estate, is a Grade II listed building with outbuildings converted from a 17th century dairy farm in the heart of the village.

Estate Manager Ed Barnston said: “We are proud to have developed a thriving business community and rural economy at Top Farm in Farndon.

“It’s very exciting to see so many of these businesses regularly joining forces to put on what have become, with last year’s Summer Social and Christmas Weekend and tree lights switch on, very popular events for the local community.

“I’m looking forward to our first ever Paint Farndon Pink Weekend Festival and to raising as much as we can for Prevent Breast Cancer.”
