The Barnston bees are back

It is seven years since we introduced our first beehives to the Barnston Estate to help with pollination.

The bees spend most of their time on the Estate, apart from the Winter months when it gets too cold for them to work and fly.

This is when our bee farmer carefully moves them to Wales to feed on heather, a perfect winter flowering plant, and to make sure they go into the colder months content and healthy.

This month, they're all back in situ and we have 24 beehives in action.

We're looking forward to seeing them buzzing around Farndon and Churton and harvesting their honey in a few months.
