Our growing bee population

The Barnston Estate bee population is growing.

We introduced our first hives to the Estate over five years ago to help to promote pollination across gardens, hedges, orchards and farmland.

Since then we have been steadily building our number of hives and are delighted that we now have 25 bee hives dotted across the Estate.

They particularly love our beautiful native wildflowers with their masses of colourful flowers all in one place and also the eucalyptus trees growing alongside the River Dee.

Over the last few weeks we have been harvesting their delicious honey.
